June 5: LHP lands on 15-day IL
Gasser was placed on the injured list on June 5 with a left flexor strain. Gasser, the Brewers’ No. 4 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, will get a second opinion on his elbow from Dr. Neal El Attrache this week, after which the Brewers will have a better idea of how much time he will miss.

“We'll have more clarity on that moving forward,” manager Pat Murphy said. “Hopefully it is what we think it is and he'll be back before too long. But anytime you're dealing with a flexor strain or you're dealing with anything, it’s going to be a while. You have to build him back up.” Gasser is 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA in five starts (28 innings) this season.

June 5: RHP recalled from Triple-A Nashville
Ashby was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on June 5, starting the series finale against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. Ashby, who has been working his way back from 2023 shoulder surgery, made one start for the Brewers this season, allowing eight runs (four earned) in 3 2/3 innings against the Reds on April 8. He’s 1-3 with a 6.80 ERA in 10 games (9 starts) at Triple-A this season, though he threw seven scoreless innings in his most recent start on May 31.

June 5: RHP recalled from Triple-A Nashville; RHP optioned
Myers, who was sent down on June 1, returned to the Brewers on June 5 to give Milwaukee a fresh arm while it deals with an array of pitching injuries. Myers is 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA in seven appearances this season. Junk, who had a 9.00 ERA in three outings for Milwaukee, was optioned to make room for Myers on the roster.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

LHP (left knee sprain)
Expected return: Likely June
Hall, who'd been struggling to establish himself as a starter before he tweaked his left knee fielding a bunt in a long second inning of Milwaukee's April 20 win over St. Louis, has been making steady progress since the calendar flipped to May. He made one-inning rehab starts for High-A Wisconsin on May 19 and Triple-A Nashville on May 23, when he caught a cleat late in his outing and tweaked his left knee. Hall had an MRI on May 27 and was scheduled to travel to Los Angeles on June 5 for a consultation with Dr. Neal ElAttrache.

Assuming he's healthy and able to continue his progression, one possibility is that Hall rejoins the Major League roster to continue building his pitch count as a multi-inning reliever, like Brandon Woodruff and Corbin Burnes did early in their careers. (Last updated: June 3)

RHP (low back strain)
Expected return: TBD
Ross was placed on the IL on May 21 after he exited his May 20 start having thrown just one inning (15 pitches). This is his first experience with a low back issue. He and the Brewers are hopeful it will be a short stint. (Last updated: May 21)

60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP (head, right shoulder)
Expected return: Mid-June
Junis' began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Nashville on June 4, throwing two scoreless innings. Junis did not allow a baserunner and struck out three, reporting no issues with his shoulder after the outing.

“He felt like his second inning was better than his first inning and he felt like it was coming out pretty good,” manager Pat Murphy said. (Last updated: June 5)

RHP (right shoulder inflammation)
Expected return: Mid-June
Bukauskas' injury occurred where his triceps connects to his shoulder region, he said, which is why he originally believed it to be a lat injury similar to others he has endured in his pitching career.

The Brewers transferred Bukauskas to the 60-day IL on May 10 and he resumed playing catch on May 17. He's scheduled to travel with the Brewers to Philadelphia for their June 3-5 series for one more bullpen session before going to the club's complex in Arizona to face hitters. (Last updated: May 31)

OF (fractured left index finger)
Expected return
: As soon as June 17
Mitchell, injured while taking batting practice the weekend before Opening Day, expects to travel to the Brewers' complex in Phoenix on June 3 to face live pitching and complete his comeback to game action. If he passes all those tests, Mitchell could rejoin the Brewers as soon as their June 17-19 series at the Angels.

The 25-year-old was in line to be Milwaukee's starting center fielder and leadoff hitter in 2024, and he could still slot into those roles upon his return. (Last updated: May 31)

RHP (back stress fractures)
Expected return: Late July
The Brewers' closer played catch on May 18, marking his first significant step since he was diagnosed with two stress fractures in his back in mid-March. Williams said he is on schedule and hopes to be back pitching in the Majors by late July.

Williams, who won the Trevor Hoffman Award as the best closer in the National League with 36 saves and a 1.53 ERA last season, gave up four runs, four walks and two hits in two appearances over 1 1/3 innings this spring. (Last updated: May 18)

LHP (torn UCL)
Expected return: 2025
Miley will miss the remainder of 2024 due to UCL surgery, which typically requires a 10- to 12-month rehab. The surgery was completed on May 7 in Cincinnati, with Dr. Timothy Kremchek operating. Miley underwent testing April 23 on his left elbow to try to diagnose inflammation that he said felt different from the usual bone spurs-related pain he has tried to manage for the past three to four years, and the results initially came back inconclusive on April 24.

Miley flew to Cincinnati that day to have an in-person meeting with doctors and undergo an arthrogram to assess the integrity of the ligaments in the region, which confirmed the structural damage. He was transferred to the 60-day IL on April 30. (Last updated: May 7)

RHP (right shoulder)
Expected return: Late 2024 or 2025
Woodruff underwent shoulder surgery on his throwing arm in October 2023 and was non-tendered by the Brewers the following month. He signed a two-year deal with the club on Feb. 21, when he was placed on the 60-day IL, and will rehab in Milwaukee throughout the season after beginning a throwing program in mid-February.
